USB Stick for Liquid Dispensing

SmartDispenser USB stick
The SmartDispenser® is smart.  It knows the size of the syringe, the dispense volume desired, how much reverse motion post dispense (backoff) is required and how many steps there are from top of the syringe to the bottom.  All LDS Dispense Guns start fully retracted or other wise known as the zero step position.  When priming LDS Dispense Guns offline with the SmartDispenser® Priming System fluid is pushed forward from the end of the syringe luer to the end of the dispense tip purging the air out of the tip in preparation for dispensing.  To accomplish the priming of fluid the LDS Dispense Gun is moved from zero step position to a positive step count.  By inserting the USB memory stick into the SmartDispenser® Priming System the memory stick is recognized and the positive step count is automatically downloaded to the USB memory stick for fluid dispensing.
Every SmartDispenser® has a unique system name.  The same as a computer name is assigned to a laptop or desktop computer.  When the positive step count is downloaded to the USB memory stick the operator is queried for the system name of the SmartDispenser® Control Center in the automation cell that the positive step count will be uploaded to.  The unique system name is automatically assigned to the downloaded positive step count.  This allows the operator to prime several dispense guns offline for multiple automation cell SmartDispensers® with minimal effort.
When the pre-primed LDS Dispense Guns are loaded into the automation cell replacing the depleted LDS Dispense Guns all the operator has to do it insert the USB stick into the automation cell SmartDispenser® and the step count is automatically uploaded.  This four step process reduces gun change over to seconds.

  1. Prime the LDS Dispense Gun.
  2. Insert USB stick and type machine name.
  3. Install pre-primed LDS Dispense Gun into the automation production cell.
  4. Insert USB stick and your done.
