Dispense Speed SmartApp™

Increase Process Control – Productivity

This SmartApp was requested by a Multinational fiber optic connector manufacturer who wanted more control over the speed of a single fluid deposit when filling an enclosed fiber optic connector.

Once the Dispense Speed SmartApp is installed, the Administrator can activate the SmartApp.

Admin

The SmartApp installs two speed input boxes on the Traditional LDS9000® dispense program menu. The operator inputs an opening dispense speed and an ending dispense speed for a single fluid deposit. The speed sequence can go from fast to slow or slow to fast.

The Dispense Speed SmartApp has two operating modes also set by the Administrator.

Gradual Decrease Mode: Where an algorithm takes the difference between the opening speed and the ending speed and distributes the difference evenly over the number of forward steps in the fluid deposit. This mode provides an even distribution of speed decrease (increase) through the entire fluid deposit.

Percentage Mode: When the operator sets a percentage to hold opening speed and a percentage to hold closing speed. For example, opening speed for 68% of the forward steps in the fluid deposit, ending speed for 32% of the forward steps in the fluid deposit.
