LC, MT and SC Fiber Optic Connector SmartApp™

Function: The SmartDispenser^® notifies the operator when it is time to start filling a replacement syringe.

The SmartDispenser^® monitors the work life of epoxies, so if the production run exceeds its work life the
SmartDispenser^® sends a signal to the robot stopping production.

The SmartDispenser^® monitors the number of fiber optic connectors in the enclosed automation mounting jig
versus how much epoxy is left in the fluid reservoir (syringe). Once the epoxy needed to fill all the connectors in the automation mounting jig exceeds the epoxy in the fluid reservoir (syringe) the SmartDispenser^® sends a signal to the robot stopping production.

Benefit: Assures that every fiber optic connector in the automation mounting jig is 100% filled with epoxy within the epoxy’s work life, which eliminates costly post-production rejects. At the same time, the SmartApp™ minimizes empty syringe changeover production downtime to between 20 and 40 seconds, which maximizes annual production throughput.
