Fluid Dispenser… Repeat, Stroke…. Repeat, Fluid Dispenser… Repeat, Stroke…Repeat

Since my daughter had been a member of  her high school crew team, I was able to knowledgeably watch the Olympic rowing competition this weekend.  Calculated fluid dispense stroke rates and stroke repetition is a key component and the phrase “catching a crab” is not what you think it is.

The linear drive technolgy that Fishman® incorporates into the SmartDispenser for fluid dispensing is done via a calculated turn of the lead screw based upon the desired rate of dispense, volumetric fluid dispense input amount and syringe size. The ability to dispense fluid repeatability is what makes us a winning fluid dispense solution for our customers in medical device, fiber optic, electronics and mission critical defense applications.

Watch this 20 second video to see how fluid dispense works.

The official site for Olypmic Rowing is full of interesting tidbits; Did you know that Dr Benjamin Spock, the famous child development expert, won Olympic gold in the men’s Eight at the Paris 1924 Games? or that at the Amsterdam games  1928 Australian rower Henry Pearce stopped halfway through his quarter-final race to let a family of ducks pass in front of his boat. Although a French competitor overtook him, Pearce managed to get back in front and win the gold!
